Community Box Top Drive!

Green Meadow is reaching out to the community to support their Box Tops for Education campaign. Box Tops labels can be found on hundreds of products, and every Box Top label donated is worth 10 cents. All money goes directly to the Green Meadow PTO to fund enrichment programs for students along with many other educational activities and events throughout the year. Families and members of the community can help the PTO reach their goal of $1,500 by clipping Box Tops and dropping them in one of these convenient locations around town: Green Meadow, CVS, Maynard Town Hall, Anytime Fitness, Jam Time, the Flower Pot, Middlesex Savings Bank, Maynard Council on Aging, Toast N’ Shine and the Maynard Public Library. Thank you for your support - every Box Top counts!

Superintendent's Notes

 Central Office/8th Grade Relocation

Many parents and staff have shared their thoughts on the 8th grade being located at MHS.  I know this is an important topic for our community.  The school committee will be discussing this topic at the next scheduled meeting on 9/29/2016.

The School Committee will be reviewing the student enrollment numbers at MHS and the considerations with moving the 8th grade out of MHS.  In order to move the 8th grade into Fowler, the Central Office will need to be relocated out of the wing that it currently occupies.

There will be more details and options discussed at the School Committee Meeting.  If you would like to participate in the discussion, please feel free to attend the School Committee Meeting at 7:00 pm in the Fowler Library.

Collaborative Town Operations

This week in Maynard, a disturbing incident  in the form of a bomb threat occurred.  I want to assure our school community that the Town Administrator, Police Chief, Fire Chief, and DPW Director have always worked in concert with the schools to provide our students and staff with the resources to combat threats and active incidents.  We have worked together to develop proactive protocols and remain committed to working together collaboratively to be as prepared as possible.

In regard to the bomb threat at the beginning of this week, this is a police matter.  It is still an active investigation and the Maynard Police Department are still seeking any information anyone might have in regard to this incident.
