Budget Timelines

At our last school committee meeting a parent suggested that we share the timelines in regard to the budget process.  The School Committee reviews budgetary concerns at almost every meeting. 

The next two school committee meetings will have presentations from the principals, school councils members and curriculum director in regard to the FY18 budget proposal.   These discussions and decisions will be made at the next two school committee meetings on December 1, 2016 and December 15, 2016.

We were also asked to share the Town of Maynard's budget timelines.  The Town Budget Timeline is as follows:

January 3, 2017         
Department Budgets Due to the Town Administrator

Jan - Feb        
Town Administration meets with Department Heads to discus FY18 Budget

February 11, 2017     
FY 18 Joint Budget Meeting (including the Board of Selectmen, Finance Committee, the School Committee, and all Town Administration) at the Maynard Public Library.

Feb - March
Finance Committee meets with each town department (including Police, Fire, DPW, Library, Schools, and General Government)

March 21, 2017
FY18 Budget Document finalized and adopted by Board of Selectmen

All of these meetings are posted and open to the public as well.

Support the Maynard Education Foundation when you Dine at Not Your Average Joe's any Tuesday's in November

Come enjoy a great meal and help raise funds for the Maynard Education Foundation (MEF) when you dine at Not Your Average Joe's in Acton any Tuesday during the month of November.

Present a certificate (available at www.maynardeducation.org) or simply mention that you are a MEF supporter to your server when you dine in or order take-out, and Not Your Average Joe's will donate 15% of your purchase to MEF. (Excluding alcohol, tax, and gratuity.)

MMA November Updates

Senior Districts:  November 19th
Christmas Parade:  December 4th
Winter Concert:  Wednesday December 14th specifically looking for 2 parents to supervise students and 1 parent to coordinate baked goods and beverages.

Our one and only fundraising event is fast approaching.  Casino Night is November 19th at the Maynard Elks.  Only 2 more planning meetings left:  11/10, and 11/17 at Bonnie Wilson’s house, 13 Sherman Street, 7:00.  All are welcome!

Volunteer Opportunity: 
MMA is in need of a 10th and/or 11th grade music parent to coordinate this year’s music banquet set for May.  Please email MMA if you can take on this role.
