The Green Meadow Preschool program earns NAEYC Accreditation Renewal
Kate Markowitz, Maynard Preschool Coordinator, received the confirmation of our Preschool five year accreditation renewal from the NEAYC Accreditation of Programs for Young Children. The Maynard School Community should be very proud of this accomplishment. There are very few preschool and kindergartens in our region that hold this level of accreditation. This is not an easy certification to achieve and it is a testament to all of our staff in Preschool and Kindergarten who have worked so diligently over the years to maintain these certifications.
Core Values Logo Survey Result and Option 2
We received over 293 responses to our core values logo survey. The winner of that survey was logo #1. Shortly after that survey the School Committee received a generous offer from Chris Obrien who is a Maynard Resident, parent and professional graphic designer. He created a different logo with the same core values.
We are sending out this second survey to give our school community one more option between the original version and the newly designed version. You can vote at the following link:
Bullying Plan Public Comment
Last week on Monday the 9th, the Bullying Plan Forum was held at the Fowler school library as advertised. There were members from the community, Police, Fire, and School Departments in attendance. Legislatively, the bullying plan must be reviewed every two years. At that forum, changes to the November 2013 plan were discussed. Those changes are being discussed at the next school committee meeting on November 19, 2015. The school committee meeting will be an opportunity for public comment. However, for those who cannot attend the School Committee Meeting, we have set up this link:

THE 6th MAYNARD HALL OF FAME BANQUET AND INDUCTION CEREMONY
The Maynard High School Athletic Hall of Fame (MHSAHF) Board is proud to announce its 6th Hall of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremony scheduled for Saturday, November 21, 2015, 6 PM to 11:30 PM at the Maynard Lodge of Elks, 34 Powder Mill Road, Maynard. The past five events have been a huge success and have sold out!
At this special event, a formal induction ceremony will take place for the sixth set of inductees to the Maynard High School Hall of Fame, including James Aulenback, Michael DeMars, Charlotte Dzerkacz, Joseph Dzerkacz, Gina Terrasi Gallagher, Michael Graceffa, Blair Harrington, William Jarmulowicz, James Marcey, Michael Mullin, the 1986 MHS Football Team and John Tobin for the Black & Orange Award.
It is always a great evening of celebration and a great opportunity to see friends and classmates of Maynard High School. The festivities will include a cocktail hour (cash bar) followed by a buffet dinner from 6:30 PM to 8 PM, followed by the induction ceremony and ending with a social.
This banquet is open to all! The Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization under Section 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) and donations are tax deductible.
An invitation to an A.L.I.C.E. (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) presentation.
The Maynard Public Schools, in cooperation with the Maynard Police Department and the Maynard Fire Department, have adopted a new strategy for school safety procedures known as the A.L.I.C.E. Training Plan. The Maynard Public Schools Safety Committee will be presenting an overview to the public on November 19th at 7:00 pm in the Fowler Assembly hall during the School Committee Meeting that evening. After the presentation, there will be an opportunity to ask questions regarding the new procedures.
