Superintendent's Notes

A Message From  Coach Smith

The following is a message from Coach Smith Of The Maynard Bromfield Football Team.

"Good Afternoon,

On Friday October 10th, today, the Maynard Bromfield Tigers Football team will be playing the Lunenburg Blue Knights in Lunenburg.  This game will benefit the "Caring For Kate fund" for the Arpano Family.

The Arpano Family are friends of mine who reside in Lunenburg. Their 5 yr old daughter Kate has been diagnosed with a inoperable brain cancer tumor. All proceeds will benefit the "Caring For Kate Fund" which will go towards supporting the quality of life Kate has left with her family as well as helping the family deal with medical costs.

For anyone who would like to donate, please see Kevin Caruso at the game.  He will also collect the names so that donors will receive a "Caring For Kate "rubber bracelet.

Thanks for your consideration in advance.

- Coach Smith-"

MHS Announces It’s 2015 Musical - Bye Bye Birdie!

Bye Bye Birdie is a wonderful, lighthearted family show based in the ‘50’s.  The story highlights rock idol Conrad Birdie who has just been drafted and the teens in town can’t believe it. He will be coming to Sweet Apple Ohio to bestow a kiss on one lucky girl, Kim MacAfee, before he leaves to join the service. Conrad’s agent and songwriter, Albert, is caught between his overbearing mother and his fiancée of 8 years, Rosie, while he is trying to sort out things with Conrad.  This musical is great fun and nostalgic look back into a special decade of American history.

Auditions are the week of Oct. 20-24th with sign ups across from the ticket booth by the HS theatre.  This is primarily a High School show, but there is one role with a few lines, spoken and sung, for a middle school boy-Randolf, and also the possibility of 2-3 more middle school children for town scenes (no lines).

Anyone in the community interested in working in the show-especially with sound, lighting, set building and painting, prop making, costuming, ads for the program, please contact Mrs. Blanchard at:
