An Invitation to the Bullying Prevention and Intervention Public Comment Forum

The Maynard Public Schools Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan Public Comment Forum is scheduled for Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the Fowler Library between 6:30 and 7:30 PM.

I have included the current Maynard Public Schools Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan with the recommended tracked changes on the Maynard public Schools home page at, https://sites.google.com/a/maynard.k12.ma.us/maynard-public-school/documents-to-download

As a complimentary document I have included a Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Check List that has be used to verify that this document contains the required content.

Outstanding National Honor Society Induction Ceremony

I attended the National Honor Society Induction ceremony this week and was so pleased to see all of the students, parents and staff there.  It was the first official event in the new Maynard High School Performing Arts Center and everything from the facilities to the friends were outstanding.

I would like to thank Shannon Moore who was the guest speaker and a former Maynard High School graduate and National Honor Society President.  She gave a wonderful speech describing how her career options increased when she maximized her college experience by trying new things that were out of the box.  In her case, it was trying a journalism position on the school newspaper that opened doors to her career at the Massachusetts State House.  I believe that having young former students speak about there success after high school and college is a great motivational opportunity for our students at Maynard High School thinking about their future.

In an effort to streamline these notes, I will remind the Superintendent’s Notes readers of important upcoming events with a reference to the blog where more information can be found.
