College opportunities this summer for MHS juniors and seniors

I attended the Mass Bay Framingham state university Getting Ready for College event last Saturday with my daughter who is a senior this year.  We learned quite a bit about various college options and what to expect from a parent and students perspective during the first year of college.

I was very impressed to find out that our MHS juniors and seniors have opportunities to take transferable courses for credit at only $100 per course through their Summer Bridge Program.  This is a two week, fun, hands-on STEM Learning Experience.  They are offering the following two ten-day courses:
MN 1340 – Engineering designs come to life with 3D technology
CS 140 – Interactive multimedia to create animation

Or the following four 2.5 day workshops:
Artbotics: build a flower or a toy and make it move
Race to the finish line: A Lego robot competition
Storytelling and games with Scratch
Mobil Apps with App Inventor

These are exciting opportunities that I am hopeful our school community can take advantage of.
